DirectOwnerCars is an online marketplace/intermediary within the meaning of the Information Technology Act, 2000. We connect vehicle sellers and buyers. We do not own, buy, sell, inspect, insure, warrant, or take custody of any vehicle listed on the Platform. Every sale is a private transaction directly between the buyer and the seller. We are not a party to, and accept no liability for, any transaction, negotiation, payment, transfer of ownership, or dispute between users.

You must be at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering into contracts under the Indian Contract Act, 1872. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity under your account. Provide accurate, current information — impersonation or false details may result in immediate suspension.

"RC Verified", "Direct Owner", "Guardian Seller" and similar badges indicate that the seller submitted documents (e.g., a Registration Certificate photo) which passed our automated and/or manual checks. Verification is a best-effort screening measure, not a guarantee. We do not certify a vehicle's condition, legal status, accident history, loan/hypothecation status, odometer accuracy or the seller's title. Buyers must independently verify all documents and the vehicle before paying any money.

• You must be the registered owner named on the vehicle's RC, and your profile name must match the RC.
• You must upload a genuine, unedited RC photo. Forged, tampered or someone else's RC is strictly prohibited and may be reported to authorities.
• One live listing per registration number. Duplicate registration numbers are held for admin review.
• Listing details (price, kilometres, condition, ownership count) must be truthful. Misleading listings will be removed.
• You are solely responsible for completing the legal ownership transfer (Forms 29/30, RTO process) after sale.
• Dealers/brokers must not pose as direct owners — such accounts will be banned.

• Guardian Sellers are small dealers/resellers verified through business documents (shop photo, trade licence, business proof, GST where applicable).
• You must hold lawful possession of and the right to sell every vehicle you list, with the RC available for buyer inspection.
• You must clearly identify as a Guardian Seller and never present a listing as a private owner sale.
• You are responsible for compliance with all applicable dealer regulations, taxation and consumer protection laws.
• Verification may be revoked at any time for misconduct, complaints, or expired documents.

• Inspect the vehicle and original documents (RC, insurance, PUC, service history, loan NOC) in person before paying.
• Use safe, traceable payment methods. Never pay advances/tokens to unverified persons. We never ask for payment on a seller's behalf.
• Meet sellers in safe public locations. The chat request/approval system exists for your privacy — interactions outside the Platform are at your own risk.
• Complete RTO ownership transfer promptly after purchase.

• Listing stolen, disputed, court-attached, or non-existent vehicles.
• Uploading forged or manipulated documents or photos.
• Fraud, phishing, advance-fee scams, or off-platform payment traps.
• Harassment, hate speech or abusive content in listings or chat.
• Scraping, data mining, or interfering with Platform security.
• Posting the same vehicle multiple times or misusing packages.

Violations may result in content removal, account termination, forfeiture of paid promotions, and reporting to law enforcement.

• Free listings remain live for 14 days and then auto-deactivate. Reactivation windows may apply.
• Visibility packages (Silver, Gold, Diamond) affect placement only — they are not endorsements of the vehicle or seller. During free-launch periods, packages may be provided at no charge.
• When paid, package fees are for promotion services already rendered and are non-refundable once the listing is live, except as required by law.
• We may remove or hold any listing that violates these Terms or applicable law, including listings flagged for duplicate registration numbers.

RC photos are treated as confidential: stored in restricted storage, visible only to the uploading seller and our verification team, never displayed publicly, and automatically deleted once the ad is completed (deleted by you, or expired beyond the reactivation window). The Platform is provided "as is" and "as available". To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties and shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, loss of profit, or any dispute, deficiency, accident, defect, fraud or loss arising from a transaction between users. Our total aggregate liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid us (if any) in the 3 months preceding the claim, or ₹1,000, whichever is lower.

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless DirectOwnerCars, its owners, employees and agents from any claim, demand, loss or expense (including legal fees) arising out of your listings, your transactions, your breach of these Terms, or your violation of any law or third-party right.

We may suspend or terminate accounts, remove content, or restrict features at our discretion for violations, suspected fraud, legal requirements, or platform safety — with or without notice. You may delete your account at any time; clauses that by nature survive (liability, indemnity, disputes) will survive termination.

The Platform, its design, logos and software are our property. By uploading photos and listing content you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, display and promote that content on and off the Platform for marketplace purposes. You confirm you own or have rights to everything you upload.

We may update these Terms from time to time. The "Effective date" above will change, and continued use of the Platform after an update constitutes acceptance. Material changes may be notified in-app.

The Platform is owned and operated by UUTU TECHNOLOGY PRIVATE LIMITED (CIN: U52520KL2020PTC063407), having its registered office at No.13435-E18, Tramway Square, Old Highway Road, Chalakudi, Thrissur, Kerala, India - 680307. These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Courts at Thrissur, Kerala shall have exclusive jurisdiction, subject to any mandatory consumer-law forum rights. We aim to acknowledge complaints within 48 hours and resolve them within 15 days.
